Episode 8: Cutting Edge Research?!?……. 3200 Hours of Gorilla Chest Beatings

Gorilla Chest Beatings

Today we discuss a paper by Wright et al., (2021) about Gorilla Chest Beatings. This paper has been recently promoted on the Nature Facebook page, it is called: Chest beats as an honest signal of body size in male mountain gorillas (Gorilla beringei beringei).

This paper explores the fascinating world of Gorilla chest beats. With over 3200 hours of Gorilla recordings, 5 years of extensive analysis, and a Nature recommendation this must be a pretty amazing discovery right? RIGHT??
